Secretaries of local councils will be able to issue extracts from the register of notarial acts, under an amendment to the Law on Local Public Administration adopted today.

The amendment revises the basic duties of local council secretaries. In particular, the secretary will issue extracts or copies of any document from the local council’s archive, except for those containing classified information, as well as extracts and copies of civil status documents.

Also, the secretary will be able to issue extracts from the register of notarial acts, correct or complete omissions in notarial acts issued before March 1, 2019, as well as issue duplicates thereof.

The amendment will take effect six months after publishing in the Official Gazette.
