The live auditions for the Eurovision national selection will take place on February 1. As many as 35 singers will play 36 songs in the inverse order to the way they were registered for the contest, IPN reports.
The organizational committee of the contest said the vocal performance of the competitors will be assessed by a jury consisting of professionals. The assessment criteria include the melodic line, originality of the song and performance. The jury will give points of 0 to 12 for each competing song. At the current stage, show elements and stage clothing are not required.
Under the regulations for the national selection stage, the winner of this stage will represent Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. However, at the live auditions the organizers can decide on the opportunity of holing an additional stage, namely the national final.
Among the most famous contestants this year are Pasha Parfeni, Dianna Rotaru, Natalia Gordienko, Georgeta Burlacu, and Maxim Zavidia.
The live auditions will be held in Studio 2 of the National Television, with live broadcast on TV Moldova 2 channel starting at 3pm.
Duncan Laurence landed the Netherlands their fifth Eurovision Song Contest win in 2019 and the contest takes place in Rotterdam. The grand final was set for May 16, with the semifinals arranged for May 12 and 14. Last year, Moldova’s Anna Odobescu failed to qualify for the final.
