In 30 years of its founding, the Institute for Development and Social Initiative “Viitorul” created platforms of dialogue between representatives of the business community and the government, contributing this way to the amendment of the legislation and the solving of problems faced by entrepreneurs, said the Institute’s director Liubomir Chiriac. According to him, Moldova’s economy today does not make progress and a constant dialogue between the business community and decision makers from government is needed to overcome the crisis, IPN reports.
Founded in 1993, the Institute for Development and Social Initiatives “Viitorul” is a nongovernmental organization that combines social, political and economic research with elements of advocacy. The Institute’s director said that they created different discussion platforms in time so as to identify solutions to pressing social problems.
“By launching the National Business Agency, we managed to create a platform of 40 associations of businesspeople who cover about 90% of the country’s economy. Through the agency of the National Business Agency, we ensure a platform for dialogue between businesses and the government so that the authorities hear the businesses. In time, we evidently had many initiatives aimed at improving the legislation, the regulations. The situation in the economy is now not the best. Evidently, a lot of work is to be done. They try to impose particular monopolies,” Liubomir Chiriac stated in the program “Reflection Points” on Vocea Basarabiei channel.
According to him, the economic situation can be remedied by constant communication and greater openness to entrepreneurs’ proposals on the part of the authorities.
“The economy can be reinvigorated by well-thought-out policies, by continuous dialog with business associations that experience a lot of problems. The business associations mainly have a lot of objections to what is there at governmental level. The businesspeople are very insistent on the problems they encounter and I think the government should be more open. A continuous dialogue is necessary. There had always been different approaches between businesses and the government, but a civilized, continuous dialogue, including agreed roadmaps, brings very good results,” said Liubomir Chiriac.
He noted that for over 30 years, the Institute for Development and Social Initiatives “Viitorul” has aimed to ensure the democratization and Europeanization of the Republic of Moldova, with the Institute’s experts helping to achieve these objectives through studies, analyses, innovatory projects and by promoting the best international practices in public administration, economy, security, energy.
