A Lithuanian company is ready to invest in the opening of an animal waste processing factory that will provide 350 new workplaces. The project is a novelty for Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The plans were discussed in a meeting of Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar and representatives of ARVI Enterprises Group and the president of BAVI (Baltic Institute of Agrobusiness) Raimundas Lopata from Lithuania.
“This sector is at an incipient stage of development, but, having the necessary experience and the wish to invest in this field, the idea will definitely turn out successful,” said Valeriu Lazar.
The Lithuanian investors said they intend to implement two projects in Moldova. Besides the animal waste processing factory, they also plan to construct a turkey breeding and turkey meat processing factory.
In a meeting with Prime Minister Vlad Filat, the Lithuanian investors said €20 million will be invested in the poultry factory whose capacity will be over 6,000 tonnes of products. “The factory will have a modern turkey meat processing and packing system. The products will be of a high quality, in accordance with the European standards,” said the representative of ARVI Enterprises Group, Vidmantas Kucinskas.
The Premier approved of the plans, saying Moldova is rather competitive as regards the attraction of investments.
ARVI Enterprises Group has worked in the area of fertilizer production for over 15 years. Half of its fertilizers are exported to Latvia, Estonia, Poland and other European countries. The company also manages waste, produces sugar and provides consultancy and research services.
