Lithuanian expert offers advice to the MFA on European Integration

From May 15 to 26, Alvydas Stancikas, the Lithuanian councilor for foreign affairs will activate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI) of the Republic of Moldova, a time he will spend to share the experience of his country in the process of European integration. According to the Ministry, during these days the expert will have meetings, consultations and discussions with the representatives of MFAEI. Also, he will participate at the meeting of those four inter-ministerial coordinating commissions dealing with the promotion policy of the European integration and implementation of the Action Plan Moldova-EU. The expert will stay in Chisinau for 10 working days each month, during the period May 2006 – March 2007. He will perform his activity within the trilateral project Great Britain – Lithuania – Moldova, initiated for offering assistance to the Republic of Moldova in the process of implementing the action plan Moldova-EU. The project is financed by the Embassy of Great Britain in Chisinau and the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Lithuanian expert has a large experience with the Lithuanian MFA, namely the European Integration planning department. At present, Alvydas Stancikas is the head of the Coordinating and Monitoring Department for the implementation of the EU aquis. During May 2005 – March 2006, a Britain expert activated at MGAEI due to the support offered by the Great Britain.
