Iurie Leanca had a meeting with the Ambassador of Lithuania in Chisinau Violeta Motulaite on the occasion of the completion of her mission. The Premier thanked the diplomat for her contribution to improving the Moldovan-Lithuanian relations and for supporting Moldova’s European course, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, Iurie Leanca said that Violeta Motulaite held office in a very important period for Moldova. “The relationship between our states is a special one. We have common historical ties and this means that there will always be preconditions for developing the bilateral relations at different levels,” stated the Premier.
For her part, Violeta Motulaite underlined that her mission in Moldova was an impressive one as this period was marked by many changes, especially in the European agenda. There was signed the Association Agreement with the EU and abolished the EU visa requirements for Moldovans.
Violeta Motulaite was named Ambassador of Lithuania to Moldova on August 10, 2009. She will complete her duties on July 28.
