Lithuania has donated €80,000 worth of humanitarian aid to the persons affected by flooding in the Republic of Moldova, the Lithuanian Embassy in Chisinau said in a press release, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The aid consists of basic disaster relief items – 10 inflatable boats with outboard motors, 15 simple inflatable boats, and 200 pairs of gumboots.
The consignment departed from Lithuania on Wednesday, August 6, and is supposed to reach Moldova on Saturday, August 9. It will be received for administration by the Civil Protection Service.
By offering this humanitarian aid, Lithuania is expressing its solidarity and full moral support for the people affected by the floods.
Last year, Lithuania offered Moldova €100,000 to alleviate the effects of an extensive drought.
