Academicians, teachers and doctors of science from seven countries will take part in the international scientific colloquium “Easts and Wests: Literature, Philosophy, Culture”, which will take place in Chisinau on May 31 – June 1. According to the head of the State University’s Universal Literature Department Tatiana Ciocoi, who organized the event, this theme will be discussed in Moldova for the first time.
Contacted by IPN, Tatiana Ciocoi said the event will bring together literary persons from a number of European countries. The conference represents a bridge connecting Moldova and Europe, culture being the only functional link between Moldova and the East and West.
“The subject is topical. Unlike other countries, it hasn’t been discussed in Moldova. I thought it is necessary and useful to invite literary persons from different corners of Europe to discuss this issue and to see how we perceive ourselves and what cultural differences exist between the East and West,” said Tatiana Ciocoi.
Invitees from Germany, Romania, Canada, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, and Moldova will deliver scientific communications in the colloquium. The event was organized by the Universal Literature Department the second consecutive year.
