Lit cigarette causes victim

A cigarette left lit claimed the life of a man aged 73 from Ghelauza village of Straseni district. The tragedy happened on the night to March 16, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the fire destroyed the goods inside the home. The body of the owner was found in one of the rooms. Careless smoking is the preliminary cause of the fire. The cause of death is yet to be established.
The quoted source said that careless smoking this year caused 76 fires in Moldova. They resulted in 33 deaths.
