List of food products banned from sale around schools to be revised

Some products such as processed meats and cheeses might be excluded from the list of food products banned from sale around schools. Minister of Healthcare Andrei Usatii will round a task force, with representatives from several Ministries, to revise this list, reports Info-Prim Neo. Andrei Usatii stated, during a press conference, that several businesses requested the Ministry to revise the list. “We couldn't allow the sale of processed meats and cheeses, since we do not know the amounts of salt and fats they contain. But we will talk on this topic next week”, said Andrei Usatii. The list of alimentary products not recommended for preschool and school pupils contains caramel, chocolate, and pastry. Additionally, it mentions chips, pizza, fried products, and others. Cookies, salted bagels, salty cheese products are also not allowed. Non-alcoholic beverages with added preservatives, sports drinks, fast preparation products, chewing gum, coffee, and other similar products are not allowed for sale in the vicinity of schools.
