List of exporters of vegetal products to Russia will become known next week

The list of companies that will export fruit and vegetables to Russia will be presented on September 7, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Valeriu Cosarciuc announced. He told the reporters that the list is being discussed with producers’ associations and exporters and is drawn up on the basis of criteria agreed with the Russian authorities, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the minister, the main criterion is the safety of the products. The companies must have a good reputation and exporting experience. It is not yet known how many companies the list will include, but their number will be probably reduced. The producers’ associations and exporters agree with such an approach. The export must be performed by large companies whose work will be monitored, Valeriu Cosarciuc said. He also said that the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry is examining a bill to constitute groups of producers that will deal with sales, as in the EU member states. In this connection, the minister informed that meetings with officials of the Romanian Ministry of Agriculture and representatives of the largest shop chains in Romania have been held in Iasi earlier this week. They considered possibilities of increasing Moldova’s exports of vegetal products and wines to Romania.
