The list of Baccalaureate exams for the 2012 session was updated and for the first time after many years includes the history subject as compulsory for candidates who studied humanities. The history exam for the candidates who studied exact sciences, arts, sports and technology will be optional, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ministry of Education. In the current session, the Baccalaureate tests will be different for the candidates studying humanities and for those studying exact sciences. Only the foreign language exam will be the same as there were taught an equal number of lessons in foreign languages. Adrian Ghicov, head of the Assessment and Examination Agency, said the materials for exams will be used to teach the subjects included in the list of Baccalaureate exams over February-March on a trial basis. According to the Ministry of Education, about 28,000 candidates are projected to take Baccalaureate exams this year. 39,500 students will sit ninth grade completion exams.
