The unionist parties of the Republic of Moldova face image-related problems, Vlad Plahotniuc used Mihai Ghimpu, while Dorin Chirtoaca has problems because of Igor Gamretski, Liberal MP Lilian Carp stated in the program “Point on today” on TVR Moldova channel, IPN reports.
Speaking about the image crisis experienced by the unionist parties, Lilian Carp said most of these parties are led by former Liberal heavyweights who discredited themselves, such as Ana Gutu, Anatol Salaru and Ion Hadarca. All the parties of the right in Moldova should undergo a serious reform.
The MP considers Vlad Plahotniuc used the Liberals when the Filip Government was voted in. “Polls showed then that the Socialists and Renato Usatyi would have gained over 60% of the poll in early elections. Plahotniuc knew that Ghimpu could not allow pro-Russian forces to come to power and profited from this to achieve his goal,” stated the MP.
As to the criminal case started against the Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca, Lilian Carp said this made a mistake when he put his trust in people who profited from him. ”Dorin Chirtoaca didn’t have image-related problems, but there were individuals who profited from his kindness and promoted their interests. Igor Gamretski, for example, hit Dorin Chirtoaca most seriously. If this person hadn’t headed the transport division, Chirtoaca wouldn’t have faced problems now,” he said.
The Liberal heavyweight reiterated the intention to withdraw from politics, but said he is not decided to do this before the end of his term in office. “I will see. There are persons who joined the Democratic Party in the list of substitute candidates and I do not want these to occupy my seat,” stated the MP.
