PAS vice president Lilian Carp said the public reports about eventual Cabinet reshuffles are speculations as the Cabinet is for now strong and no changes will be made in the team. However, if the current members do not honor their obligations, dismissals are possible, IPN reports.
Following reports that the administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs will be replaced, the PAS MP said such scenarios are not examined by the party. Lilian Carp also excluded the possibility of dismissing the whole Cabinet.
“At the current stage, we are not discussing the dismissals of minister. But never say never. We are now considering how we can improve the process and quality of governance. If we consider that particular functionaries or ministers do not cope with their duties, we will decide and change things. At the current stage, such issues are not discussed. Missis Natalia Gavrilița was elected Prime Minister for a four-year term,” Lilian Carp stated in the talk show “The Fourth Estate” on N4 channel.
The head of the Parliament’s committee on security, defense and public order said he is not really satisfied with the work done by the National Bank governor given that the institution didn’t make pertinent inflation forecasts.
“As they assert that Octavian Armașu didn’t make forecasts about the rate of inflation and other things that enable the Government to plan its actions, the current NBM chief should answer for this. If Octavian Armașu does not deliver results, he will have to leave as we need a person who will deliver results,” stated Lilian Carp.
Recently, Premier Natalia Gavrilița also expressed her dissatisfaction with the NBM governor’s work, saying this didn’t take any action to minimize the rate of inflation the past five months. She noted that the National Bank is responsible for controlling inflation, but the institution didn’t do anything to stop the galloping inflation.
