The Ministry of Justice will submit to Parliament a bill that requires candidates for the posts of judges, prosecutors and criminal investigation officers to take polygraph tests. This was one of the topics discussed at a meeting between Justice Minister Oleg Efrim and Ambassador Dirk Schuebel, Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova. Also, the Ministry will propose tougher penalties for acts of corruption and will present a bill regulating the procedure of subjecting law enforcement and judicial professionals to integrity tests. The discussions included the issues related to the progress made by Moldova in the justice reform and the cooperation between Moldova and the European Union in this area. It was also noted during the discussions that the EU financing for Moldova will considerably increase in 2013, and this year the Moldovan justice sector will receive further 10 million euros in technical assistance.
