Five persons holding executive posts at the Licensing Chamber, including the institution’s vice director, were arrested following searches performed by officers of the National Anticorruption Center on October 22, IPN reports.
According to Angela Starinski, spokeswoman for the National Anticorruption Center, the arrested persons are suspected of abuse of power when issuing or extending licenses for gaming activities.
Update: The Ministry of Economy took cognizance of the results of the inspection carried out at the Licensing Chamber and suspended its managers from posts for the period of the inquiry. The process of issuing licenses for gaming activities was stopped for the same period. The Ministry named an acting administrator to manage the Licensing Chamber.
