A new bill on oil products will be published on the Ministry of Economy’s website this week. It will stage a ‘small revolution’ in the field, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar.
“The licenses for the import of oil products for own consumption will be eliminated. Such a request was repeatedly made by farmers and agricultural enterprises. This will stimulate competition on the market. The capping of profitability on the import and sale of oil products will be restored,” said the official.
The importation of oil products for own consumption without licenses will prevent the prices from going up. The high prices are one of the major constraints on the development of agricultural businesses, according to associations of agricultural producers and the National Employers Confederation of Moldova.
