Liberals will not vote to fix date of presidential elections Thursday

The Liberal lawmakers insist that a consensus should be first reached as regards the candidate and then the date of the elections can be set. Veronica Bacalu was fielded for the presidency by the Liberal Democratic Party and the Democratic Party. Marian Lupu said that if the date of the presidential elections is not fixed in the near future, he will ask the Constitutional Court to pronounce on the opportunity of dissolving Parliament. Mihai Ghimpu is convinced that if such circumstances had existed, the Communist Party would have made use of them long ago.
