The statement by which the Party of Socialists disapproves of the decisions by some of the political parties to influence inhabitants of Chisinau to boycott the November 19 referendum to remove Dorin Chirtoaca from the mayoralty of Chisinau shows how desperate the Socialists are, the Liberal Party (PL) commented. “Aware that the referendum initiated by them will fail, the Socialists try from now to justify themselves before the residents of Chisinau, shifting the blame onto the parties that supported the boycott announced by the PL,” the Liberals say in a press release, to which IPN makes reference.
According to the PL, the goal of the Socialist group on the Chisinau Municipal Council is to block the projects implemented by Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca for the inhabitants of the municipality.
The Liberals accuse the leader of the PSRM Zinainda Grecheanyi of being among those who robbed millions of lei from Banca de Economii. “If they want to do a good thing, they should ask their leader to return the money to the people. We will see what courage the Socialists have when the company Kroll publishes the second report and all the people will find out who the real beneficiaries of the theft were. These now pose as heroes and promoters of the fight against corruption,” says the PL’s press ‘release.
The Liberal Party repeatedly called on the inhabitants of Chisinau to boycott the referendum on the dismissal of Dorin Chirtoaca.
