The Liberals accuse acting mayor of Chisinau Silvia Radu of usurpation of power and invite her to present a report in the meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC). The same is required of deputy mayors Nistor Grozavu and Ruslan Codreanu, all the three being accused of usurpation of power and promotion of illegal reforms.

According to the head of the Liberal group on the CMC Ion Cebanu, many of the so-called reforms, including the reorganization of municipal divisions, are illegal and were done by order of the acting mayor. Some of the projects approved by the Municipal Council were modified after they were endorsed. “I examined the transcript concerning the draft decision on the organogram of the Division of Education, Youth and Sport and established that no proposal was submitted on the issue. But the decision approved by the CMC contains different information,” stated Cebanu.

The Liberals demanded that the authors of these draft decisions should come before the local councils to shed light. “This thing has been known for a long time. Besides the committed illegalities and the fact that Missis Radu every minute usurps the local power by her presence at the City Hall without any legal basis, her mandate is illegal and expired when Chirtoaca tendered his resignation,” stated Ion Cebanu.

The councilors of the other groups said the Liberals started the election campaign. “The Liberals kicked off the election campaign. We should leave politics aside and invite them to the hall to work,” said councilor Veaceslav Bulat, of the European People’s Party of Moldova. “The election campaign started and the Liberals began it the first. They destroyed Chisinau during ten years and now started to be active. However, if what Cebanu said it’s true, it is very bad. I suggest constituting a commission to investigate the situation,” stated Communist councilor Vasile Chirtoca.

The State Chancellery’s representative said the accusations made by Liberal councilor Ion Cebanu will be analyzed and the institution will later provide an official answer.

The Liberal councilors left the meeting hall. “We do not want to take part in this hubbub anymore,” explained Ion Cebanu. The CMC announced a break. If the quorum is not present, the meeting will be interrupted.
