Liberal Valeriu Nemerenco chose to keep his office as Chisinau's Buiucani district head, parting with his seat in Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Communist parliamentary group criticized Nemerenco for not making the choice earlier. MP Anatolie Zagorodnyi in particular remarked Nemerenco occupied both posts, which are legally incompatible, for nearly one year. Legal Commission head Victor Popa explained that Valeriu Nemerenco had been suspended from the duty of district head under a mayoral ordinance, so no law was violated. The vacant seat will be given to the next in line candidate on the Liberal Party's ticket. This could be, in descending order, Ion Apostol, Anatolie Arhire or Vadim Vacarciuc. The Central Election Commission will examine within 10 days the next candidate in line and will propose the Constitutional Court to grant him the mandate.
