The significant rise in the number of persons that would vote for the Liberal Party (PL) during two weeks, from 4.9% according to the IMAS poll to 8.2% according to the Public Opinion Barometer, shows the PL's popular approval rating goes up, the party's vice chairman, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. “For us, it is good that the rating of the Communists Party decreases, while of the Democratic parties goes up,” Chirtoaca said. Asked if he wished to become President, Dorin Chirtoaca answered he has many things to learn yet. “I have a lot to do. My major objective is to fulfill the promises I made to the residents of Chisinau,” the mayor said. Dorin Chirtoaca is the fourth most trusted political figure in Moldova, with a percentage of 30%. He is preceded by Marian Lupu, Vlad Filat and Vladimir Voronin. According to the Public Opinion Barometer, if parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, the Liberal Party would win 8.2 of the vote. The Communists Party would poll 29.5%, the Liberal Democratic Party – 19.2%, while the Democratic Party – 9.1%.
