The Liberal Party will not delegate representatives to take part in the electoral debates on the local referendum of November 19 because the plebiscite is illegal and is organized with serious violations of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, the Election Code and the European Charted of Local Self-Government, IPN reports.
“We consider that our participation in electoral debates, alongside the usurpers and initiators of this plebiscite, would implicitly lead to the recognition of this illegal referendum and we would also legalize the Socialists’ whim on which 9 million lei will be spent from the pockets of the inhabitants of Chisinau municipality,” the Liberal Party says in a press release.
The Liberals called on the voters of Chisinau municipality not to take part in the farce-referendum staged by the Socialists and to support the mayor general of Chisinau municipality Dorin Chirtoaca, who was chosen by citizens for three consecutive times.
