The Liberal Party decided to put again forward Dorin Chirtoaca for the post of mayor general of Chisinau municipality. Such a decision was taken in the April 5 meeting of the Liberal Party’s National Council, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the party.
“We have the duty to save the European course this time again. By proposing Dorin Chirtoaca for the mayoralty, we will save democracy. We started the change in 2005-2007. We are the most consistent in promoting our values. I hope the voters understood that only with the Liberal Party can we become part of the EU and that we stole neither the soul nor the money from them,” said the party’s leader Mihai Ghimpu.
The local general elections were set for June 14.
