The MPs of the Liberal-Democratic faction requested convening a special sitting of Parliament to which to invite representatives of the Council of the Great National Assembly for examining the demands put forward by the people protesting in the central square of Chisinau. In a press briefing on October 21, Liberal-Democratic MP Chiril Lucinschi said the MPs haven’t been yet familiarized with the petitions submitted by the protesters to Parliament, IPN reports.
“We want to address Head of Parliament Andrian Candu, who must distribute these petitions to the lawmakers. We demand that this should be done immediately. A special sitting of Parliament should be called to examine the demands of the protesters mobilized by the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth”,” stated Lucinschi.
The lawmaker also said that Parliament is obliged to examine such cases, noting that the legislative body is the only institution that hasn’t reacted to protesters’ requests. The proposal of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group will be submitted to the Parliament’s Standing Bureau, which is to meet at 3p.
