The level of water in the Nistru River oscillates between 9.1 and 8.9 meters. According to SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau”, these parameters enable the water pumping station on the Nistru that supplies water to the capital city to work normally, IPN reports.
In a press release, the company says the level of water in the Nistru on May 16 was 8.9 meters. This level has been constant for several days. Thus, the supply of water to the municipality of Chisinau is not jeopardized.
The public utility said that regardless of the length of the hydrological drought and the temperatures recorded in summer, the administration of SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau, in concert with representatives of design institutions, will consider possibilities of intervention in the riverbed of the Nistru so as to raise the level of water.
