The Leuseni customs checkpoint resumed its work after a fire broke out overnight at around 1:00 AM. Customs Service director Tudor Balitchi told reporters that already by 3:00 AM the customs checkpoint was ready to work and no queues formed, Info-Prim Neo reports.
This morning the 901 service was called to put out a fire on the territory of Leuseni customs checkpoint. The firefighters deployed three fire engines. It took them an hour to put out the fire.
Because of the wind, the fire expanded to the protection roof of the pass for vehicles and damaged four control stands. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
Tudor Balinschi said that the Customs Service moved to the scene immediately after the incident. The state inspectors of fire prevention measures will establish the circumstances and causes of the fire, with one version being a short-circuit. The damages and costs for the reconstruction of the burnt annex will also be assessed.
