The Leușeni-Albița border crossing point was blocked by farmers who are mounting a protest. The Telegram channel for verifying government information, Prima Source (“First Source”), said that teams of the National Public Security Inspectorate are at the scene to maintain public order and restore traffic flow, IPN reports.
The Border Police recommend the carriers and travelers to choose in advance the available alternatives, such as the border crossing points Sculeni, Costești and Leova-Bumbăta, so as to avoid possible inconvenience and delays.
In connection with the protests that have lasted for five days and are expanding geographically, the Farmers’ Force Association called for the immediate initiation of an effective dialogue by the Government and Parliament with the farmers who took to the streets. They said that they are on the verge of bankruptcy and sought the resignation of the minister of agriculture and food industry.
