The Moldovan leu in June depreciated in average values by 0.3% against the US dollar to 17.7916 USD/MDL, compared to 17.7340 USD/MDL in May, IPN reports.
The National Bank of Moldova said that the coverage of the net demand for foreign currency by economic agents through the net supply of foreign currency from individuals in June was 103.8 percent, compared to 90.1 percent in May.
Against the previous month, the net supply of foreign currency from individuals increased by 24.3 million dollars (+9.1%). At the same time, the net demand for foreign currency from economic agents decreased by 15.7 million dollars (-5.3%).
The central bank the past month did not intervene in the local currency market.
