The Parliaments of Moldova and Canada have signed a memorandum of cooperation for strengthening the bilateral relations and implementing democratic reforms in Moldova in the context of the European integration, IPN reports.
The memorandum was signed during Head of Parliament Igor Corman’s visit to Canada. The official had meetings with the Speakers of the House of Commons and the Senate of Canada’s Parliament Andrew Scheer Noël and A. Kinsella. During the discussions, the Canadian officials expressed their interest in developing the Moldovan-Canadian relations and their support for Moldova’s European course.
The officials also discussed possibilities of developing partnerships between universities, promotion of exchanges of young people as well as opportunities for cooperating in agriculture and the energy sector.
The program of the visit to Canada includes a meeting with Minister of State for Democratic Reform Pierre Poilievre and a meeting with the community of Moldovans in Montreal and Quebec.
