The lawmakers fixed the date of the presidential election. The voting in Parliament will take place on November 18, Info-Prim Neo reports. Communist MP Artur Reshetnikov proposed that the head of state should be elected on November 8. After a pause of an hour, the leader of the Liberal-Democratic group Valeriu Strelet suggested holding the election on November 18 so that they have enough time for discussions. Put to the vote, the Liberal-Democrats’ proposal was supported by most of the MPs, except for the Liberal lawmakers. In the same sitting, there was set up a special commission for supervising the presidential election. At the suggestion of Artur Reshetnikov, it was agreed that the commission will consist of nine MPs – four representing the PCRM, three the PLDM, and by one the PDM and PL.
