The Communist lawmakers will insistently promote the legislative initiative concerning the strengthening of Moldova’s status of neutrality. This is one of the priorities set in a meeting of the faction held on January 14, IPN reports.
After the meeting, the parliamentary group issued a communique, saying that the Communist lawmakers will request the Government to implement the Parliament decision of December 2013 regarding the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism. In the same connection, there was drafted a bill on special social assistance for veterans of World War II.
The provision of a special social-cultural status to Taraclia district is another priority formulated by the Communist faction.
In the November 30 legislative elections, the Party of Communists won 21 seats in Moldova’s Parliament.
