Moldova will hold the next legislative election on November 30, an issue to be formally approved soon, stated Liberal-Democrat leader Vlad Filat in an interview for the channel RTR Moldova, IPN reports.

Filat says this is the earliest date allowed by the legislation and it won't be postponed because of the winter holiday season. While this date hasn't been officially announced yet, Filat says he trusts this will be done very soon.

Citing a survey for internal use, the former prime minister said his party will win a significant number of seats in the parliament. “This is due to our capacity to deliver on our promises. Salaries have been raised for the police and the judiciary, with the doctors and the teachers to follow soon. GDP grew by 20 percent, and budget revenues doubled from 13 billion lei in 2009 to 26 billion in 2013. For the first time in Moldova's history, more than 10 billion lei was invested in infrastructure”, said Filat.

He went on to stress that the greatest achievements, however, are the liberalization of the visas for the EU and the upcoming signing of the association agreement with the European Union. “The people will very soon feel the benefits of coming closer to the EU and will no longer feel nostalgic about the past”.

Vlad Filat announced that on April 27 when Moldova celebrates the Flag Day, the European Union flag will be flown next to the national one on the main governmental buildings, and fliers will be handed out to the people in the streets about Moldova's Eurointegration course, together with discs with the Moldovan and the EU anthems.
