The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office took legal action over the reported sale of the post of prosecutor general in 2009, in exchange for €2 million. An application to this effect was filed by PAS MP Radu Marian four days ago, IPN reports.
“Until now I heard nothing from the Prosecutors’ Office about these very serious declarations made by people who served as MPs at that time. Light should be shed in this case too,” Radu Marian posted on a social networking site. In his requisition, the MPs says the media disseminated videos where Vlad Filat and Veaceslav Platon, who held public posts in the period, make assertions and these are incontestable proofs.
He also wants to know if those implicated - Serafim Urechean, Vlad Plahotniuc, Vlad Filat, Veaceslav Platon, Valeriu Zubko and Veaceslav Untilă - were questioned in this case.
Former Prime Minister Vlad Filat in July stated for a TV channel that the post of prosecutor general was sold for €2 million by the former leader of the Our Moldova Alliance Serafim Urechean to VladPlahotniuc. Then, on October 7, 2009, Valeriu Zubko was named Prosecutor General.
