After the vacation by Victor Popa of the seat of MP and, respectively, of the post of chairman of the legal commission for appointments and immunities, other parliamentary commissions will also undergo changes because the jurist’s successor has a different qualification and will work on another commission.

The Parliament’s spokesman Sergiu Vladica has told IPN that after Victor Popa leaves the seat of MP, the Liberal faction, of which he formed part, will name a new chairman of the legal commission.

Vadim Vacarciuc is the next substitute candidate for MP on the list of the Liberal Party. Contacted by IPN, Vacarciuc said he will take a decision whether to accept the seat or not in several days.

Vadim Vacarciuc, 41, is a professional weightlifter. He took part in the Olympic Games for four consecutive times. In 1996 and 2000, he carried Moldova’s flag at the Olympics. He is now the deputy head of the local organization of the Liberal Party in Balti.
