The leaving of Iurie Bolboceanu from the Democratic parliamentary group solves the mystery, but the fact that the lawmaker left the government coalition too is serious. The parties prepare for elections and other defections may follow. The issue was discussed by invitees to the program “Politica” on TV7 channel, IPN reports.

Political analyst Oazu Nantoi said that if Iurie Bolboceanu left only the party, it means that there are internal problems in the PDM. “For me, it’s important for the politicians not to destroy the Government and to sign the Association Agreement with the EU. They may leave, return and regroup, but must make sure that the accord is signed,” he stated.

Political analyst Anatol Taranu said the leaving of Iurie Bolboceanu is a problem for the PDM. “His defection shows that there are problems inside the faction and the party. I spoke with Mister Bolboceanu and he told me that there is no communication with the party’s administration. I don’t think he will join another faction,” he said.

Jurist Ion Dron said the leaving of Iurie Bolboceanu solves the mystery as regards the previous statements that somebody was trying to buy Democratic MPs. “Some of the lawmakers said they rejected the offers. These are baits for us. If fact, Bolboceanu does not identify himself with the Democratic team any longer,” he stated.

Journalist Ernest Vardanian presumed that Iurie Bolboceanu decided to leave the party because he realized that his place is not in the PDM. “The party’s image was seriously affected. Its popularity is decreasing. The de facto leader of the party Vlad Plahotniuc has the highest anti-rating. He probably understood that he should not remain in a party with an indefinite future,” he said

Political analyst Igor Botan underlined that the MP had the courage to say that he leaves the party, but didn’t have the courage to say why. “The PDM promised that they will annually raise the pensions by 25%. He should have said that they have been in power for four years, but the pension wasn’t raised. I think they started the preparations for elections and he understood that he will not form part of the team that will be proposed by the PDM. More such cases will follow as the parties are preparing not only the platforms, but also the electoral lists,” stated the analyst.

MP Iurie Bolboceanu on March 6 announced that he decided to leave the Democratic faction and the Democratic Party as he is disappointed by the Moldovan politics. The faction now has 15 seats of MP. Currently, Iurie Bolboceanu forms part of the group of unaffiliated MPs.
