Lease Law has been annulled

Parliament has annulled the Lease Law, leaving the field governed by the Civil Code. According to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce the new Civil Code of the Republic of Moldova provides rather efficient and clear regulations of the relations related to lease, so that there is no need for a special law in the field. Several MPs have agreed with the necessity of the annulment, but on the condition that another law would be worked out or the Civil Code be amended. However, the Standing Committee for Economic Policy, Budget and Finances rejected this proposal. MPs voted for the annulment of the law in two readings.
