Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and the Transnistrian leader Yevgeny Shevchuk will have a meeting. Such an agreement was reached, but a date hasn’t been yet set, Deputy Prime Minister Eugen Carpov told the press after the discussions he had with the political representative of Tiraspol to the Transnistrian settlement Nina Shtanski on Friday, IPN reports.
“We hope the meeting will take place in September. We discussed the subjects that can be raised in this meeting and spoke about the set of documents that will be prepared for signing,” stated the official. According to Eugen Carpov, the Ukrainian chairmanship of the OSCE proposed that the two leaders should meet in a settlement in Ukraine.
In the context of this meeting, the groups of experts will exchange draft documents over the next 10 days.
For her part, Nina Shtanski said the meeting of Iurie Leanca and Yevgeny Shevchuk is necessary and should be not only informative, but should also bring results.
The political representatives of Chisinau and Tiraspol to the Transnistrian settlement, Eugen Carpov and Nina Shtanski, met at the head office of the OSCE Mission in Chisinau on August 30.
