Moldova has achieved the most important results in the European integration process during the Greek Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said in a meeting with Foreign Minister of Greece Evangelos Venizelos, who is in Chisinau on a visit, IPN has learned from the Government’s press service.
Iurie Leanca said that Moldova approves of the support provided by the Greek EU Presidency in developing the dialogue between Moldova and the EU. “We will mark two of the most important accomplishments of the European integration process in Moldova during the Greek Presidency of the EU Council – the liberalization of the visa regime and the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU,” he stated.
Evangelos Venizelos confirmed the readiness of Greece to continue to support Moldova in implementing democratic reforms and in the European integration process. He underlined the importance of signing the memorandum of cooperation between foreign ministries in ensuring the rapprochement between the EU and Moldova so as to strengthen the bilateral relations.
