The Leanca Government is accused of stealing and corruption by most of the MPs from the opposition. The Premier is supported only by the lawmakers of the government coalition. Unaffiliated MP Mihai Godea will also not vote for the censure motion as, according to him, the dismissal of the Government will endanger Moldova’s European integration course and this is not the best solution for the country at the moment, IPN reports.
“This Government will answer for its acts in Vilnius,” said Mihai Godea. He added he cannot vote for the motion put forward by the PCRM when its leader says that the motion’s final goal is the early elections. “We want the thefts to be punished, but we don’t think that the Communists will come to power to do justice. On the contrary, they will come to steal what the others didn’t manage to,” he stated, urging the Government to focus all its efforts on the Vilnius Summit.
MP Igor Dodon said the Premier is far from the realities. As to Iurie Leanca’s statements that the current government took over a poor, isolated and heavily indebted state from the Communists, Igor Dodon urged the Prime Minister to pay attention to the fact that most of the members of his team were in power during the Communists’ rule too. He added that the current Government is a clone of the Filat Government that was dismissed for acts of corruption.
Communist MP Oleg Reidman said that only 2 minutes of the Premier’s 25-minute speech referred to the theme of the censure motion. He considers that the Leanca Government fulfilled none of its promises. “The Government is to blame for not keeping the state institutions and should be thus punished,” he said.
“The airport in Habarovsk is not in a very good state. I doubt they will come with sacks of money to invest in our airport,” said Liberal MP Valeriu Munteanu. He added that the Leanca Government must be dismissed for using the same principles and taking the same steps as the previous Cabinet. Any negative consequence of the Vilnius Summit will be the blame of the current Government that discredited itself.
According to Liberal-Democratic MP Ion Butmalai, the real thefts were committed by the Communists when they were in power. “Either good, or bad, it is our Government that was voted in by us,” he stated.
The lawmakers continue to discuss the work of the Leanca Government.
