The leaders of several youth organizations from Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Estonia, and Russia proposed creating a Youth Council in a meeting they had with Speaker Marian Lupu, IPN reports.

Marian Lupu said the meeting was a good occasion for seeing not only the good parts, but also certain shortcomings exiting in the cooperation between the public institutions and youth NGOs. “I think the idea is generally good. A general cooperation platform should be created. If a form acceptable to everyone is identified, I assure that we will allow these organizations to use the parliamentary platform to form a coordinating Youth Council,” he stated.

The meeting took place within the International Forum “Young Leader of the 21st Century” that was held the third consecutive year.

The Prime Minister of the Youth Government Stanislav Cebanciuc said the youth council would offer the young people a series of opportunities and would represent the most efficient way of learning through intercultural exchange and experience exchange.

Nicolae Pascaru, leader of the Youth Movement “Voievod”, considers the young people are the county’s future and they must be helped so that they do not go abroad. “The young people from Moldova encounter difficulties in finding a job and do not have where to live. They need changes. We came together at this forum in order to bring about changes and to help create cooperation relations between the public institutions and youth organizations,” he stated.

On April 1-7, several youth organizations had held a number of charity events and volunteering seminars and donated books to children’s homes on the occasion of the week dedicated to the youth.
