The leaders of the Platform “Dignity and Truth”, as organizers of the October 4 protest, are to blame for the violent actions of some of the protesters. Such conclusions were formulated by invitees to the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
Alexandru Cauia, dean of the Faculty of Law of the Moldova Free International University, considers that the leaders of the Platform allowed using violence during the protests in order to intensify them. “The protests of the Platform “Dignity and Truth” have subsided. The organizers needed something new to keep the revolutionary spirit up. The Platform’s representatives assumed too many responsibilities, including by naming this protest the Great National Assembly, which is a symbol of the Moldovan state,” he said.
Director of the Resource Center for Human Rights (CreDO) Sergiu Ostaf said the protesters dressed in military uniforms violated the deontological and ethical norms when they attacked the police. “It is a negative signal. Well-trained former policemen, dressed in uniforms with state symbols, attacked police officers on duty. This is against the deontological and ethical norms,” he stated.
Media analyst Cristian Tabara said the leaders of the Platform “Dignity and Truth” incited the protesters to violence. “There were different calls: let’s go to the Government; let’s go to the Parliament Building. Such messages were risky. Those who attacked police officers were persons with epaulets who know well how to disperse a police cordon,” he stated.
