The leaders of the Platform “Dignity and Truth” had the intention of forming a political party from the very beginning and used the protests in this respect. Such a statement was made in the program “Reply” on Prime TV channel, IPN reports.

Victor Shelin, who heads the Social-Democratic Party, considers the party that the Platform intends to launch has slim chances of asserting itself in politics. “Initially, the protesters demanded that the stolen billions should be returned, but later they dropped this subject. It happened after Filat was arrested for the frauds committed at Banca de Economii. It’s clear that Vlad Filat and Victor and Viorel Topa are behind this platform,” he stated.

Alexandra Can, deputy head of the National Liberal Party, considers the actions of the Platform “Dignity and Truth” will not produce results. “The Platform did right when they mobilized the people in protests, but their actions will lead to nothing. They only shook a tree and that’s all,” she said.

Political analyst Victor Gurau said the leaders of the Platform “Dignity and Truth” used the protests as a pretext to form a party and enter politics. “The people came to protest and demand better living conditions. The Topa group made effort for the protest to materialize. The November 29 message shows that forming a party was the main goal of the Platform,” he stated.
