The leaders of the three parties that formed a governing coalition chose a candidate for Prime Minister, but his or her name will be made public on July 23. Such an announcement was made by the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat in the evening of July 22, IPN reports.

“We agreed with the alliance colleagues not to reveal the name of the future Premier until tomorrow. I can only say that this is a candidate with integrity who will be a very good Prime Minister,” stated Filat.

The Liberal-Democratic leader said that initially it was he who was fielded for premiership, but the alliance partners rejected his candidacy. “The Liberal Democratic Party put forward me, but the other coalition partners invoked rather formal reasons like the one that the party leaders should not come into focus. As we promised we will in no way block the formation of the future alliance and the investiture of the Government in this difficult period, we nominated another candidate,” said Filat.

The head of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu said they agreed also the candidate for Head of Parliament, whose name will also be announced on Thursday morning. “We put the last commas on the draft agreement initialed yesterday. The accord is now edited stylistic ally. Tomorrow morning, we will sign the agreement on the formation of the Alliance for European Integration 3,” he stated.

The chairman of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu confirmed that the party he heads will manage the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Transport. “We drew up a scheme, according to a European model, which I think is correct. We would like to control other ministries too, but the future government will be not the government of a party, but of an alliance, from which the people expect changes,” he said.
