The Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova, the Democratic Party and the Liberal Reforming Party that formed the government coalition will hold a large public meeting in support of Moldova’s integration into the EU in the Great National Assembly Square on November 3, starting at 11am. The coalition’s leaders called upon the Moldovan pro-European forces to unite, IPN reports.
In their call, the three leaders Vlad Filat, Marian Lupu and Ion Hadarca say the event will be staged to support the pro-European option that was clearly expressed by most of the Moldovan people in the last parliamentary elections, given the importance of the historical moment through which Moldova passes.
The meeting will also be held to underline the importance of the Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit for the country’s European course and future, with this course having no other alternative.
“Given the necessity of joining all the pro-European forces that want the Moldovan people to have a free, democratic, prosperous and European future and the steps taken by the forces that oppose Moldova’s integration into the EU, we call on all the democratic and pro-European forces and on all the people who want to live in a free, democratic and prosperous state to come to the event under the national tricolor and the European Union’s flag,” said the three leaders.
The politicians also said that Moldova deserves a better future and the people must unite in order to ensure it.
