Layer of snow in Dubasari measures 7 cm

After last night’s snow, the thickest layer was snow formed in Dubasari district, where it measured 7 cm. The lowest temperatures were recorded in the northern districts of Camenca, Briceni and Soroca, where thermometers showed -11 degrees Celsius.

Contacted by IPN, forecaster Natalia Canter said the layer of snow in Bravicea village of Calarasi district was 6 cm thick. In southern Moldova, the layer was only 1 cm thick. Towards morning, it began to rain in the southern districts.

A yellow code warning for difficult weather conditions was issued for January 5. According to the State Hydrometeorology Service, there will be sleet and snow all over the country, in parts even snowstorms. A layer of ice will form on the roads.
