Lawyer Ana Ursachi denies the accusation that she is involved in a case of homicide that happened 17 years ago and says she is harassed for political reasons. She developed the issue in a special edition of the program “Interpol” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.

The lawyer said the resumption of the prosecution against her by the Prosecutor General’s Office is unfounded. “It was proven that I had to relation to this case. No new circumstances appeared to reopen the case,” stated the lawyer.

Ana Ursachi considers the reopening of the case against her is political harassment. “This case represents political revenge. I defended a number of persons who are inconvenient to Vlad Plahotniuc and stated my personal opinion. I became inconvenient thus. I have evidence that Plahotniuc is the one who decides when the cases started by his order should be continued or dropped,” she stated.

Ana Ursachi presented a statement that she said was signed by Veaceslav Platon at the end of 2014 and was authenticated by a notary. In this, Platon admits that he made false depositions for Dutch lawyers in order to help Plahotniuc get rid of the distrain imposed on his property worth €46m by a Dutch court.

Ana Ursachi is the lawyer of Veaceslav Platon, Grigore Petrenco and leaders of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth”. The Prosecutor General’s Office reopened a case started against Ana Ursachi in 1998 over the murder of a teacher for appropriating her apartment. Ursachi was acquitted, while her ex-husband Ruslan Moiseev and his accomplice got jail terms.
