The MPs will have to register not only at the beginning of the plenary sitting, but also at its end, IPN reports. “It happens that the lawmakers register in the morning and then disappear during the sitting,” said Head of Parliament Igor Corman, arguing the necessity of modifying the procedure.

If they do not register at the end of the sitting, the MPs will be punished in accordance with Article 131 of the Parliament’s Regulations. This article provides that the lawmakers who will be absent from three sittings during a month without reason will have their salary and other allowances for the next month halved. If the MPs do not attend four and more sittings of Parliament or meetings of the permanent commissions during a month, they will lose 75% of the pay and other allowances for the next month.

Communist MP Grigore Petrenco said Igor Corman ordered that the lawmakers register at the end of sitting too because he found out that only 38 persons voted for the statement in support of the European integration process on Thursday, November 14.
