The professional formation programs in law, the first cycle of the bachelor’s degree and the second cycle of the master’s degree, will be assessed by an international agency. According to a press release of the Ministry of Education, the assessment will be carried out starting with the current academic year, IPN reports.
“The assessment of the law programs is aimed at improving the quality of these programs and at fulfilling the legal requirements and the commitments of universities to adjust themselves to the national and European requirements and standards,” said the head of the Ministry of Education’s Higher Education Division Nadejda Velishko.
After the assessment, the programs will be accredited for five years. The institutions that will have a negative result will be given time to remove the shortcomings and to implement the recommendations of the expert commissions. The decision was taken in a meeting of the Ministry’s Board. A number of 19 universities – 10 state-run and 9 private – will undergo verification.
