The employers, by argued order during states of emergency, siege or war or public health emergencies, can temporarily change the workplace of salary earners. These could provide work at the domicile or from a distance without having the individual work contract modified. The bill on the measures that will be taken during the public health emergency, which also amends a number of normative documents, was adopted by Parliament after being given two readings.
Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu said the new norms do not affect the social guarantees of salary earners, IPN reports.
Under the law, the employees of the National Public Health Agency, institutions and medical subdivisions managed by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and the National Administration of Penitentiaries and public health facilities, who will contract COVID-19, will get by a lump sum of 16,000 lei.
The mechanism for subsiding the costs related to the payment of the unemployment benefit of 2,775 lei to patent holders involved in trade and service provision at markets, who stopped work, was extended. The contributions paid to the state social insurance budget by patent holders will be subsidized.
In June, Moldova’s Post Office will take home the pensions and state social benefits. A moratorium was instituted on state inspections, including fiscal ones, until June 30, 2020.
The criminal cases involving persons in custody and the meetings with lawyers will take place only through teleconferencing or in appropriate areas of penitentiaries so as to prevent the spread of infection.
The National Extraordinary Commission for Public Health declared a public health emergency in Moldova until June 30, 2020.
